OB-KC.com exists to support culture, recreation and community in the Outermost Richmond / Kelly's Cove / North Ocean Beach district of San Francisco.
OB-KC.com serves the local business and residential communities, beach users, tourists and park users providing live weather and ocean conditions. Information includes temperature, wind, humidity, pressure, precipitation, highs/lows, trend and history. Tide and marine forecasts are readily accessible. Central to the OB-KC-com is the beach cam which compliments other existing surf cams and reports in the area.

Geek Details
Camera is a
c. 2000 4 megapixal Canon Powershot G2.
GB Timelapse is used to snatch the image. Canon has free software but GB Timelapse has the sunrise / sunset cue which is useful since street lights aren't very interesting.
Batch Photo Processor is used to crop, resize, resample, stamp and sort the images.
Filaze is used to move, copy, rename and upload (FTP) the images.
Movie Salsa is used to create the timelapses.
WXtide32 is used to generate the tide graphs.
Weather Station & Weather Software
Sensors are Oregon Scientific WMR100N. My review here.
Weather Display is used to parse, log, graph and dispatch the data.
Weather Display Live is used to generate the web interface.
Everything is running on Windows XP but until recently had been running on NT.
Factor comcast, the modem, a wireless router, PG&E, all the software and a 6 year old server and there are more than a few opportunities for the site or some component thereof to puke. If something isn't working for more than a day, email us.
